Project on hold until future clarification of ICANN’s set of application rules in future TLD rounds

At the present time ICANN has not finalized the guidebook for the first round. A country-name gTLD “.usa” seems to be not eligible according to the current set of rules put forward in the applicant guidebook. And the work on the the guidebook amendments for the second round naturally haven’t even began.
In order to not negatively influence the first round the promotion of this “.usa” initiative will remain inactive until ICANN signals that country-name TLD’s could be applied for under certain circumstances in one of the future gTLD rounds.
